Our Goal: All 92 Clubs
Thursday 1st January 2026
Football clubs sit at the heart of communities across the country. Every matchday, thousands of supporters, staff, volunteers and families pass through stadium gates. For most, it is simply another matchday, following the club they love. But when someone suffers a cardiac arrest, everything can change in seconds.
For Tango and Red Sky Foundation, this campaign is deeply personal. #OneInEveryCorner was born from Lauren’s Legacy, created in memory of Lauren Walker, who sadly passed away in 2023 following a long illness. Three years earlier, Lauren had suffered a cardiac arrest and was brought back with the help of a defibrillator.
Her story became the driving force behind a mission to make lifesaving equipment more accessible around football grounds.
Lauren’s dad, Paul Gregory, better known across football as Tango, has spent decades following Sheffield Wednesday and is recognised by supporters across the country. Through Lauren’s Legacy, Tango has helped turn unimaginable loss into something that could help save another family from experiencing the same heartbreak.
The campaign launched at Hillsborough, one year to the day after Lauren’s funeral, with a simple but powerful ambition: to place lifesaving defibrillators around football stadiums across the country.
It is a mission that sits at the heart of the work of Red Sky Foundation, supporting babies, children and adults with heart conditions, funding lifesaving cardiac equipment and helping improve access to CPR and defibrillators in communities across the UK.
In January 2024, 71-year-old Bolton Wanderers supporter Iain Purslow died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest during a match. Despite sustained attempts to save him at the stadium, Iain sadly passed away.
Later that year, 57-year-old West Bromwich Albion supporter Mark Townsend suffered a cardiac arrest while watching his beloved club away at Sheffield Wednesday. Despite attempts to save him, Mark also sadly passed away. His death and the subsequent inquest brought further attention to emergency response at football grounds and the importance of being prepared when a supporter suffers a cardiac arrest.
But there are also stories that show the difference immediate action can make.
In February 2025, a supporter suffered a cardiac arrest in the stands during Oxford United’s match against Portsmouth. CPR was administered and the supporter was successfully resuscitated.
Just months later, 21-year-old Sunderland supporter Callum Lawson suffered two cardiac arrests while watching his team at Wembley. Fellow supporters immediately began CPR and a defibrillator was used to help save his life.
In February 2026, Shrewsbury Town supporter Bob Green suffered a cardiac arrest outside the stadium following a match. Club medics reached him within minutes, began CPR and delivered shocks from a defibrillator before an ambulance arrived.
Every one of these stories reminds us why being prepared matters. That is why One in Every Corner has a clear ambition: to reach all 92 Premier League and EFL clubs in England, helping to place lifesaving defibrillators around football stadiums and within the communities that surround them.
When somebody suffers a cardiac arrest, every second matters. Immediate CPR and rapid access to a defibrillator can make a vital difference while emergency services are on their way. But we cannot get to 92 without the people who make football what it is: the fans.
This campaign is about supporters protecting supporters. We need fans across the country to get behind the mission, talk about it, share it, fundraise for it and help bring their clubs on board. Whether that means starting a conversation with your club, supporting a fundraiser, encouraging a local business to sponsor a defibrillator or simply helping spread the word, every action takes us one step closer.
Getting to 92 isn't about ticking clubs off a list. Every club that joins the campaign represents another stadium, another group of supporters and another community better prepared for the moment nobody expects.
Football has always been built on community, loyalty and people standing together. We want that same spirit behind One in Every Corner. We need clubs, supporters, sponsors and businesses across the country to help us get there.
