We’re incredibly proud to share that One in Every Corner has officially reached Barnsley Football Club, with four life-saving defibrillators now installed around Oakwell Stadium.
This is another important moment for Lauren’s Legacy and for the mission that drives everything we do, working towards a future where life-saving equipment is readily accessible throughout football grounds across the country.
The four defibrillators at Oakwell will help ensure that, should a cardiac emergency happen, supporters, staff and visitors have vital equipment close by when every second matters.
We couldn’t have made this installation happen without the support of Barnsley Football Club, Unison and Enviromena, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us bring #OneInEveryCorner to Oakwell.
Lauren is at the heart of everything One in Every Corner stands for. She was football mad and spent years travelling around the country with her dad, our own Paul “Tango” Gregory, following the game they both loved.
Three years before we sadly lost Lauren in 2023, she suffered a cardiac arrest. A defibrillator helped save her life. That experience never left her dad Paul or the rest of the family. After Lauren passed away at just 29 following a long illness, Paul was determined that something positive should come from everything the family had been through. He wanted Lauren’s name and her story to help give other people the same chance she had been given that day.
That is where Lauren’s Legacy and One in Every Corner began. Our mission is to work towards having life-saving defibrillators accessible around every Premier League and EFL stadium in the country. It is a huge ambition, but every club that joins us takes us another step closer.
And now, Oakwell is part of Lauren’s Legacy too.
Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere. And when it happens, every second counts. More than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the UK each year, and survival rates remain low. Rapid CPR and access to a defibrillator can make a vital difference. That is why we want defibrillators to be easy to reach around football grounds. Thousands of people can pass through a stadium on a matchday. Supporters of every age, staff, players, families and visitors are all there together, and an emergency can happen without warning. For us, this campaign is about giving everyone a chance of going home even if the worst should happen.

So yes, taking One in Every Corner to Barnsley was always going to come with a bit of football banter. But it also summed up something that has become really important to this campaign. We might support different clubs. We might spend 90 minutes giving each other grief from opposite stands. But when it comes to someone’s life, none of that matters.
We couldn’t have completed the Barnsley installation without the businesses and organisations who continue to believe in what we’re trying to achieve. A massive thank you goes to Enviromena and Unison for their support and sponsorship, which helped us bring One in Every Corner to Oakwell.

Standing back and seeing four defibrillators around Oakwell is another proud moment for the whole One in Every Corner team. For Paul in particular, every ground is another place where Lauren’s story could one day help save somebody else. That is what keeps us going.
There are 92 clubs across the Premier League and EFL and we want to keep moving from ground to ground, building Lauren’s Legacy and making life-saving equipment more accessible throughout football. Because nobody should go to a football match and not have the best possible chance of coming home.
